Completed the 1 year dietetic preceptorship year which is a fast-track learning course comprised of completing 100+ reflections on multiple learning outcomes on top of my dietetic duties of reviewing inpatients and outpatients(Gastro Medical/Surgical/Weight Management/Neuro/Respiratory/Healthcare of the Elderly)

This was my final dietetic placement wherein I worked in an acute setting in Derriford hospital for 12 weeks - 2 weeks of gastro speciality, 2 weeks of paediatrics, 2 weeks of renal, and 6 remaining weeks of general wards and consolidation. Upon completing this placement, I have evidenced that I am able to work at an entry-level band 5 dietetic role.

Conducting a Meta-analysis with Mary Hickson PHD RD (University of Plymouth Professor of Dietetics) and Lorna Burns (Lecturer in Evidence Based Healthcare: Information Specialist) on:Does a dietitian-led clinic in GP practice (primary care) reduce costs but improve patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes?

Undertaken 12 weeks of clinical placement separated into 6 weeks working in for CAMHS (Community Mental Health Services) in the Eating Disorders department which would include educating and speaking to service-users on how to meal-plan and provide individual nutrition support for patients together with their current co-existing medical conditions. I have also co-led a weekly Eating disorder education session called Food-first for several weeks with healthcare professionals observing for the weeks which include Eating disorder dietitians and Occupational Therapists.The next 6 weeks of placement took place in the Hospital setting in Royal Cornwall Hospital. Where I have undertaken 1 week of experience in a Renal ward advising individualised dietary advice or patients with their renal condition and 5 weeks in a stroke ward where I have undertaken intense training on tube feeding for patients as well as individualised nutrition support together with Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Junior Doctors, and Consultants being a daily, regular team player picking up referrals and triaging my caseload.

Undertaken 12 weeks of clinical placement separated into 6 weeks of working in the community educating the elderly patients on how to gain weight due to malnutrition and to build presentations for the community on healthy eating with regards to their individual medical conditions. The next 6 weeks of placement were undertaken in the Hospital setting where I would be referred to promote educational advice for patients (inpatients and outpatients) and guide as a dietetic intervention to their medical problems.

Underwent 2 weeks of shadowing NHS dietitians - Especially in Gastroenterology and Oncology-based wards

To take part in regular student-staff liaison meetings, to discuss the feedback from students in my course, and to provide constructive feedback in order to make the module and style of teaching and learning better for students as well as the lecturers.

-Providing clear and accurate documentation of observations and residential care-Assisting with personal care for patients as needed.-Supporting residents with assistance with meals as needed with clear documentation of oral intake- Assisting with food provision, cleaning of the residential home, and reporting to care home managers regularly

- Provide excellent customer care and conflict resolution- Guarantee quality of service through effective communication with customers- Properly record, prepare and deliver meal orders- Ensure restaurant cleanliness in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.- Educate new crew members and act as an approachable role model to the staff

- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails- Plan and present bar menu- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age- Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience- Comply with all food and beverage regulations
