• Evaluate early design concepts and relevant test data from NPI and communicate possible risks for mitigation.• Model and draft all required parts in NX CAD according to best practice.• Perform Ansys FEA and Enventive modelling to ensure all parts and assemblies are able to meet the specified requirements.• Simplify complex assembles to simpler prototypes to demonstrate function.• Perform internal testing in laboratory to verify design concepts and simplify decision making.• Actively discuss with Tooling Engineers on design feasibility and propose tooling actions such that part functionalities are not compromised while maintaining manufacturability.• Communicate with Procurement and suppliers to ensure suppliers and toolmakers are able to meet part specifications.• Review Design for Manufacturing (DFM) report from suppliers and negotiate with toolmakers to reach middle ground between manufacturability and functionality.• Build prototype rigs and send for testing at each milestone to ensure visibility on development progression. • Analyse all Problem Reports (PR) from test results and perform Root Cause Analysis to determine cause of failure and plan relevant mitigation plans.• Assess impact of mitigation plan to resolve PR in terms of cost, time and capability (CPK, PPK), and present to management to obtain decision on course of actions.• Ensure parts and design can be assembled easily with high yield percentage by performing tolerance stack and Monte Carlo analysis.• Design jigs, fixtures and testers to be used in assembly line and communicate requirements to Manufacturing Engineers. • Perform buyoff on assembly line to ensure assembly process, fixtures and testers are as per specified in drawing.• Perform internal investigations on market issues to determine causes of failure and plan relevant mitigations.
