As part of a small but experienced team of developers, we supported and extended SpotCheck, an easy to use, web-based, automatic way to measure, record and access broadcast television audio loudness records, for use in CALM compliance. We also develop custom software to interface and control our various audio/visual hardware, running on an embedded ARM.

Working as part of a small team developing new features for Ignite, the desktop tool, and IgniteOnline, the web-based tool, both used to schedule advertising media to the WatchFire-built LED billboards, using C# connected to an SQL database via the.NET Entity Framework, with JavaScript and Silverlight UI components for the online components, and C++/MFC.

• As the lead engineer responsible for the Linux version of Mathematica, I ensured feature parity with other platforms (Mac/Windows), utilizing C/C++ development with platform specific technologies (Qt, OSS), running on.
• Implemented a simpler build system using Qt’s qmake
• Added native desktop integration (menu entries and icons)
• Transitioned Mathematica to Qt fonts (and the underlying FontConfig) instead of the X11 font server and Adobe font metric files
• Improved printing/exporting (PDF and PostScript), and implemented a print preview feature
• Enhanced sound support, and enabled the text-to-speech feature using eSpeak (with Festival support in development)

• Leveraged existing libraries to quickly develop and ship new visualization software.

• Lead engineer working on the DARPA ARMS project, and assisting graduate research through application development and support.
• Lead engineer in the design and development of pervasive computing objects for the ARMS project, a Java and CORBA-based inter-operability framework
• Maintained the Gaia Ubiquitous Computing Operating System (using C/C++, Java, CORBA) for Windows.
