I have over 20 years experience in ecology and engineering, with the last 10 years spent as a professional ecologist, managing a variety of complex, strategic and largely regulatory driven projects. A significant proportion of this experience was gained within the water industry, where I developed specialist knowledge of the ecological issues associated with the construction of water infrastructure.I am currently running a small independent consultancy. Working for a number of clients I have been undertaking a broad range of ecological services. Recent projects have included great crested newt surveys, bat scoping assessments and a Japanese knotweed management plan.Previously I worked as Principal Ecologist with WYG Ltd, where I managed an Ecology team delivering a wide range of commercial ecological consultancy projects to a variety of clients and sectors within the Southern area. I also spent a year employed by ADAS as a Senior/Principal Consultant Ecologist, where I worked on mainly Rail and Utility projects.Prior to my experience in consultancy, I worked for almost 10 years at Thames Water, the last 4 of which running their Ecology and Heritage Team. I provided specialist ecological advice across the business, particularly to engineering teams. I am a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
