•Assign credit ratings to commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) transactions by analyzing strengths and risks of loans backed by commercial real estate properties.•Complete review of loans and properties by performing site inspections, review of market analysis, property cash flow analysis and review of asset documents.•Exposure to all major asset classes and loan sizes ranging from $1.0 to $500 million.•Present findings and rating conclusions to credit committee to determine bond subordination levels.•Interact closely with loan underwriters, originators, issuers and legal counsel to execute structured transactions while maintaining a level of objectivity in the interest of the investor confidence.•Monitor and perform surveillance of existing CMBS portfolio. This includes review of property operating reports, discussions with loan servicers, market analysis and stress testing of transactions. •Managerial role in the monitoring and review of junior members of the team as well as the mentoring and instruction of new analysts.
