I was part of the structural design team and was involved in the design of both concrete and steel frames for various industrial Clients, which involved producing 3D structural models. I was responsible for checking calculations for existing buildings to check their structural integrity proposing any required strengthening measures. I reported to a Principal Structural Engineer who I agreed any design changes with. I managed the CAD technician team to update 3D models and drawings. I was also involved in the design of new buildings which I modelled from scratch.Highlighted projects:• Guayana residential building: 2-storey building, reinforced concrete frame with two-way slabs and brick walls, I designed the frame developing a 3D structural model using SAP 2000 Software. I also carried out element designs separately from the model for minor elements such as lintels, brick walls and a set of retaining walls about the building. I then managed the CAD/Revit teams to develop the 3D models and drawings accordingly.• Block of flats ‘Los Raudales’: 15-storey building, reinforced concrete frame with two-way slabs and brick walls. I carried out a deep checking on the infrastructure and structure to ensure the structural stability of the building after a series of seismic cracks had been identified on the walls from floors 6 to 10. My study concluded that there were no relevant impacts on any of the building’s columns but some of the beams presented defects; a report with strengthening measures was created and forwarded to the Client for consideration.

I worked with the structural team in the design of a new copper foundry warehouse. I was also involved in the production of the structural plans for the project. I designed the structure’s steel frames using SAP 2000 software; I modelled the relevant dead, live and wind loads and particularly considered the thermal stresses generated in the structure by the highs temperature variations caused by the processes that normally take place in a copper foundry warehouse.
