Jonathan Tepper is an in-house attorney and executive with over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Mr. Tepper served as VP and General Counsel of Samsung NEXT, Samsung Electronics’ global software & services innovation center. There he focused on a variety of legal, corporate development and business development matters, as well as venture capital investments and product development / commercialization. Prior to joining Samsung, Mr. Tepper was an investment banker with Citigroup Global Markets Inc. and a corporate attorney with the international law firms Clifford Chance US LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. During the course of his career, Mr. Tepper has worked on transactions totaling over $70 billion.While at Citigroup, Mr. Tepper's practice focused on the technology sector, where he represented both financial sponsors and strategic buyers and sellers in complex mergers and acquisitions, as well as issuers and institutional investors in a variety of capital markets transactions. These included Microsoft in the sale of its Atlas division to Facebook as well as Palo Alto Networks and Grubhub in their IPOs. While at Clifford Chance, Mr. Tepper’s practice focused primarily on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, on which he regularly advised C-level executives while working on such high-profile transactions as the acquisition of IBM’s personal computer division by Lenovo, the acquisition of Tommy Hilfiger Corporation by Apax Partners and the acquisition of VNU (the parent company of Nielsen) by the Blackstone Group, the Carlyle Group, KKR, Thomas H. Lee, Hellman & Friedman and AlpInvest. While at Skadden, Mr. Tepper’s practice focused on corporate intellectual property and technology matters, primarily in the context of mergers and acquisitions. There he worked on a number of other notable transactions including the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Budget Group by Cendant and the merger of Immunex with Amgen. Mr. Tepper was awarded an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley – Walter A. Haas School of Business, a J.D. from Columbia University school of Law and a B.A. from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor – Honors College.
