At my postdoctoral fellowship at The University of Texas at Arlington under Dr. Kevin Schug and Dr. Morteza Khaledi, I developed LC-MS/MS methods for the analysis of intact proteins, investigated the effects of solvent parameters on the ESI-MS response of intact proteins, developed aqueous two-phase systems for protein fractionation, and contributed to a review article for sample preparation of intact proteins. Other responsibilities included training and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students on analytical instrumentation and techniques.

After completing my PhD, I was a postdoc at UMich for Dr. Subramaniam Pennathur in the Nephrology Division of the Department of Internal Medicine. My research included the development of a 2D-LC-MS/MS platform for isobaric lipid separation for clinical biomarker discovery and LC-MS/MS-based targeted metabolomics.

During my doctoral studies at The University of Texas at Arlington under Dr. Kevin Schug, my research topics included the chemical analysis of groundwater and wastewater from unconventional drilling operations, the use of MALDI-TOF MS and molecular biology techniques for the characterization of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, the development of polymer-coated silica as stationary phases for LC, the effects of solvent parameters on the ESI-MS response of sugars, and the analysis of sugars in apple juice and hard ciders. Additional responsibilities included training and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students and maintaining all MS instrumentation. During this time, I authored or co-authored 7 peer-reviewed publications and 1 application note.

I have taught laboratory sections for general chemistry for science and engineering majors, organic chemistry, and instrumental analysis. Teaching responsibilities included providing students with comprehensive feedback on their assignments as well as laboratory techniques, supervising students to ensure safety and efficiency, and encouraging passion for science.
