Hypower was subcontracted ($12,490,000 Unit Price) by prime contract holder Archer Western Construction to construct all of the electrical infrastructure and install all electrical equipment needed to support a brand new 8000’ runway and additional cross-field taxiways and holding pads. Personal responsibilities included:- Resolving non-conformance and quality control issues- Addressing engineering, construction, and logistical conflicts found in the field with the necessary parties- Coordinating airfield and roadway closures with the prime contract holder Archer Western Construction and local authorities- Tracking material installation/project completion, creating as-built drawings, drafting purchase orders, and generating the monthly pay application

Augsburg, Germany

Investigated the application of various waste heat recovery (WHR) technologies aboard large, ocean-going ships, with the goal of reducing the overall fuel consumption of the vessel. This required simultaneously analyzing the thermodynamic characteristics the ship’s engine(s), the greater vessel, and the WHR equipment itself, all the while considering variations in the atmospheric and load conditions. Significant attention was also dedicated to assessing the spatial demands of each system, as well as the economic risks and potential return on investment associated with each solution.

Supported the design, development, and manufacture of advanced steam turbine seals. Primary responsibilities included: - Analyzing manufacturing drawings to help determine seal retrofit compatibility - Investigating product performance and reliability concerns - Spearheading the refurbishment of the machine used to test the performance of the turbine seals and guide future development - Creating manufacturing documents needed to procure new hardwareThe nature of this position required working in a cross-functional manner to support the engineering, manufacturing, and marketing departments, in order to win new contracts and drive the growth of the company.
