I have recently graduated from BYU-I with their Bachelor’s in Applied Technology with certificates in Web Frontend, Web Development, and Computer Programming. I received my certificates in Web Frontend, Web Backend, and Computer Programming. For the first two semesters I took 9 & 10 credit hours respectively, focusing on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, PHP, and Java languages. During my last couple semesters within the program, I became heavily involved with Node.js and databases, particularly with MongoDB but a little with MySQL. For my Capstone, I developed a web app utilizing these three that allows for local game stores to find TTRPG groups for individuals to join. I am currently working full time at a utility company in Michigan, Consumers Energy, as a Senior Technician. I am part of a team that is responsible for drafting standards for 46kV and transmission construction, maintaining relationships with manufacturers, and assisting in storm restoration efforts. Previously, I was involved in SharePoint administration, where I discovered enjoyment with build websites through CSS and HTML, using specialized applications such as K2 Blackpearl and K2 Smartforms, creating Excel VBA worksheets, and now I work with Power Apps to build apps to make tasks within my department more efficient. Prior to my college training at BYU-I, all the skills I developed in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript were self-taught by trial and error.During my first foray in college, I received my bachelor’s degree at Kent State University in Architecture. I completed structure design courses and tutored a student in them as well, assisting in increasing his GPA to allow him to continue in his field of study. I also designed, drew, and constructed designs utilizing CAD programs, Mylar, and model materials. This is where I developed my skills in efficiency as I was going to college full time, raising a family, being a licensed foster parent, working part-time in retail, and working in the U.S. Army as a reservist. Architecture is not a relaxing degree and requires a lot of time in developing ideas, drafting them out, and modeling them in order to present, add that with everything else, and I developed some serious time management skills.First and foremost, I am a family man who likes to have a bit of fun. When I am not working, spending time with my family, or doing some church service project, I enjoy getting outdoors to play some golf or disc golf. I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons with friends.
