My first job was unloading trucks (not listed below). While working that job, I took away one life lesson that I consider a guiding principle to work. You have to do something to get something done. Goods came in from China floor stacked and had to be unloaded by hand. If there are 1200 boxes on the truck, you have to take 1200 boxes off the truck before you are finished. I always laugh when I hear about places with endless meetings, "hyper connected" employees, workplace parties, even office politics. It seems like everyone expects someone else to do the work and everyone is surprised when nothing gets done. I like to think of what I do as being a catalyst for business. Unlike most people who are in IT, I don't just process requests for reporting. I seek to understand core issues and develop tools that truly make people more effective at their jobs. In the last 6 months, I have worked on projects with our CFO, CMO, Inside Sales Manager, Director of Supply Chain, and Director of Accounting - she appreciates what I do so much that "Jonathanizing" tools has become a phrase in that department.

When I took responsibility, average turnaround was about 10 days, with peaks as high as three weeks. When I left this position, average turnaround was 6 hours with a peak of 3 days. This was accomplished without adding employees.Rework - Oversaw rework of nonconforming products as determined by the material review board. Returns - Oversaw receipt, inspection, determination of customer returns. When I took responsibility, customer returns took as long as 120 days to process. I implemented several procedural changes to improve turnaround time and customer satisfaction. When I left this position, turnaround time was 24 hours. This was accomplished with the addition of one employee.

Construction was completed on time and within budget. I was primarily responsible for installing and wiring the electrical systems. The machines themselves are capable of producing a NRR33 earplug, the best in the industry.
