This position involves working with cutting edge web technologies to bring new innovation to the transportation and logistics ecosystem. The work process is team-focused with heavy emphasis on collaboration between engineers, designers, and product managers.

This business acts as a personal agency through which I do part-time, contract-based development work for various clientele. Though I mainly work with smaller start-up companies doing custom software development on a project-by-project basis, I have been known to take on a website redesign or setup here or there when it is requested.

While at EquityNet I've been responsible for designing and developing many of the crowdfunding platform's innovative software features, maintaining and optimizing its back-end architecture, and improving the overall speed and efficiency of its development pipeline.

Impulsiv Technologies is the company that was created so that my friends and I could join the ArkChallenge incubator in the Summer of 2013. The first application we worked on was Impulsiv, a mobile app designed to increase event buy-in between friends and/or businesses via various social and gamified pressures. After that hit a stumbling block we then worked on WeGreek which was a coordination and administration application for collegiate societies.While working on both of these applications I gained experience in utilizing Django as a web framework (for data-processing/API usage), utilizing JQuery in front-end development, doing customer research and relationship development, prioritizing feature development for sales purposes, and dealing with stressful situations calmly.

While working at Gadberry Group my job duties included:- Developing new features for an aging piece of desktop software by making alterations to its C++ base code and introducing new custom C# class libraries. Challenges encountered during this task included creating a modern desktop environment that could support the development of such old code, digging through multiple layers of obfuscation to figure out what needed updating, and creating click-driven testing programs to comprehensively test intermediary and production builds.- Developing new features for a geography-focused web application. The front-end components of these features mostly relied on JQuery, but also called upon HighCharts and other helpful libraries where necessary. Challenges encountered during this task included constructing a system to generate Google Map tiles on the fly, migrating geographic data through multiple file types, and creating accessible work flows for users.- Creating a comprehensive support framework for the above software which included cloud-deployed (AWS) web-accessible (Apache/PHP) scripting (Python) servers for generating custom map tiles. This framework made use of AWS services such as EC2, SQS, and SNS. Use of the geography-enabled SQLite database Spatialite was also required.- Writing some Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures for data retrieval.

While interning for EquityNet during my college years my duties consisted mainly of:- Aiding in the maintenance and development of their various geography-focused data products.- Maintaining development Virtual Machines for a variety of Windows and Linux environments across varieties of virtualization software including VirtualBox and VirtualPC.- Doing basic computer and network maintenance for the building.

As an assistant with the Information Science department at UALR I aided in the creation of a proof-of-concept open-source entity-resolution platform for use by the Arkansas Department of Education in coalescing student records from various sources and time periods. The project utilized a PostgreSQL database, a couple hundred thousand anonymized records, a few Python scripts (for SQL generation), several highly-custom PL/PgSQL stored procedures, and more than one complicated graph to figure out where everything went. Software requirements necessitated the use of XML (and XPath) for data retrieval and the understanding of VBA in order to translate some custom functions that my advisers required.
