Commander of a company of over one hundred Army Engineers of various disciplines. Responsible for the every-day operation, discipline, training, and care of the Soldiers in the unit. Conducts military planning, leadership development through counseling, and assesses operational risk.

Responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Terrestrial and Aquatic Instrumentation Systems while also performing seasonal and periodic sampling of physical, chemical, and biological data at field sites. Duties include remote monitoring, preventative maintenance, and repair of Instrumentation Sensors in addition to assisting with terrestrial and aquatic observation protocols.

Responsible for teaching deployed Soldiers on various leadership and job performance classes to further their development. Classes were worth one credit hour through Central Texas College.

Responsible for collecting data from and maintaining long-term productivity and long term restoration plots. Duties include collecting and processing leaf litter, conducting fuels assessments before and after prescribed fire, collecting soil cores for processing, and collecting data from and performing maintenance on eddy flux towers.

Responsible for navigating to and assessing long-term forest monitoring plots for damage caused by Hurricane Michael. Duties include navigating to sites with a map and GPS, using a hypsometer to identify specific trees and measure snap height, recording damage to trees, and measuring course woody debris.

Lead, trained, and cared for 25 Soldiers all while planning and executing assigned missions. I responded to Hurricane Irma in 2017 and Hurricane Michael in 2018 where I oversaw chainsaw and heavy equipment teams that cleared storm debris.
