Initiate an investigation and issue corrective actions if an anomaly is detected• Perform regular inspections of clean areas to assure compliance with JSC FOD control protocols• Analyze chemical composition of metallic materials utilizing X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF)• Strong knowledge of UV inspection, particle microscopy, gravimetric determination of non-volatile residue (NVR), and total organic carbon (TOC) with ultrasonic emulsion techniques

• Lead two NASA ISO class 6 cleanroom laboratories that provide the control of airborne particulates and molecular fallout to levels appropriate for contamination sensitive activities. • Develop and optimize precision cleaning methods for a variety of metals, plastics, and elastomeric materials. • Evaluate hardware and select cleaning chemicals, materials, etc., to reach desired cleanliness level/requirement.• Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in the cleanroom and advise on the technical aspects of cleaning methods, process improvements, and facility/equipment upgrades. Create drawings, 3D models, etc.• Work with customers to understand needs and advise on cleaning methods and hardware compatibility.• Train, prioritize, and delegate tasks to other technicians. • Track inventory and calibrated equipment. • Disassemble, passivate, inspect, and reassemble components and assemblies for the purpose of precision cleaning spaceflight hardware to a specified NASA standard. • Fill, monitor, maintain, and document the concentration of chemical tanks containing various acids and caustics using manual titration.• Maintain various ultrasonic cleaners, solvent recovery systems, vapor degreasers, and ultrapure water systems. • Analyze chemical composition of metallic materials utilizing X-Ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF).• Determine cleanliness of hardware using UV inspection, particle microscopy, gravimetric determination of non-volatile residue (NVR), and total organic carbon (TOC) with ultrasonic emulsion techniques. • Prepare samples for analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDS) and/or energy dispersive X-Ray analysis (EDX).• Prepare samples for analysis by GC-MS and FTIR. • Ensure the cleanroom and pre-clean lab operate according to various NASA requirements.• Assure high quality of work and compliance with relevant TPS and/or NASA specifications.
