Dr Vogel is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip and knee surgery. He is part of The Hip and Knee surgeons orthopaedic practice based in Kingsbury Hospital, Claremont, Cape Town.He completed his medical degree through UCT in 2011 where he qualified with first class honours. He spent three years of internship and community service in the eastern cape where he developed his love for orthopaedic surgery. He completed his orthopaedic specialisation through WSU and UCT. He completed his MMED degree by dissertation in the field of pelvic surgery. He then worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in both private and public practice for 2 years during which time he completed further training in sports injuries of the knee. He ran the arthroplasty and arthroscopy units at Frere Hospital where his focus was on complex sports injuries and knee arthroplasty. He then spent a year in the United Kingdom completing a super-specialisation in hip preservation surgery. Based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, he developed a deep understanding of the young and active patient who demands a return to high level activity. His focus here was on hip arthroscopy, hip resurfacing, and pelvic osteotomies as well as robotic hip and knee replacements. He has returned to Life Kinsgsbury and Sports-Science hospitals in Cape Town where he is honoured to have joined the dynamic and experienced team at The Hip and Knee Surgeons orthopaedic group.
