Worked as the Deputy Project Manager on a project which will complete the modernization and conversion of an existing refinery to produce renewable jet and diesel fuels.

Assist the team to develop Oil & Gas Business Line Strategies for the engineering and construction market, develop proposals and client strategies, develop emerging market strategies, provide Annual Sales Forecast with Progress Reports to Senior Management, work with the team to manage client interests, developed tax & hedging strategies, develop risk strategies, and work with our legal group on contracting requirements.

Responsible for the overall coordination of the Engineering effort to ensure the overall design is fit for purpose for the client, and meets the needs of both the project team and the local refinery. My responsibilities include ensuring execution of the design strategies as setup during the front end design, establishment and ownership of the engineering schedule, continuing to establish execution requirements, coordinating all engineering issues with the client, interfacing with Office Management to ensure project staffing needs are met, identifying potential impacts to Engineering and overseeing change management input.I also oversee progress reporting and staffing levels for Engineering, helping to align the discipline staffing plans with the office. I have been heavily involved in the coordination of construction and off site fabrication interfacing on the project, working with the Fluor team to consistently maximize the construction driven design philosophy.

As the Civil-Structural office lead, my responsibilities include leadership, organization, supporting proposal work, delegating activities, prioritizing projects, and coordinating staffing needs across multiple sustaining capital projects.During this time, I acted as the Lead CSA Engineer on several sustaining capital projects, leading the CSA team in delivering project documents on schedule and in accordance with the budget. I worked hand in hand with the local clients to ensure the design was fit for purpose in the refinery, and worked within the turnaround schedule. Much of the design effort was developed through extensive field visits, working with the refinery to incorporate the heavy revamp scope.

Lead civil/structural engineer for the EPC phase of an upstream oil plant consolidation project. Responsible for discipline schedule, procurement activities, permitting activities, constructability, and oversight of the engineering design. Also serve as a back up to the Engineering Manager on the project as needed, as well as the Risk Representative on the project.

Lead civil/structural engineer for the Front End Estimating phase of an upstream oil plant consolidation project. Responsible for establishing a high level estimate for the engineering and construction of the project.

Design Engineer on multiple projects, ranging from estimating phase to execution. Designing of new steel and concrete structures such as industrial bulidings, equipment platforms, pipe ways and bridges, and large equipment foundations for use in the Oil and Gas and Power industries. Collaborated with a large team of various engineers including electrical, mechanical, piping, civil, and chemical to come up with effective solutions for both clients and contractors. Retrofitting of existing steel and concrete structures, including conducting site visits for on site analysis of existing structures.

Led a team of onsite representatives for home office design engineering on a tornado protection upgrade to an existing nuclear plant. Provided fast, effective design solutions to keep the construction team working and prevent costly delays for our clients. Issues include existing conditions, client requests, construction errors, and root cause analyses. Interfaced between engineering and client as well as engineering and contractors to provide a fluid and consistent transfer of information and ideas.
