CurrentGAFTA is an international trade association and limited company with offices in London, Beijing, Geneva, Kiev and Singapore. It has over 2000 members (many of whom are international trading companies) in over 100 countries. GAFTA exists to promote global free trade in agri-commodities and to protect the commercial interests of its members worldwide. Currently, over 80% of world trade in grains is regulated under GAFTA contracts.Group General Counsel and Gafta CMC Registered Mediator advising on all legal aspects of GAFTA's UK and international operations, with a particular focus on international arbitration and dispute resolution, commercial contracts, corporate and employment law.Responsible for all group legal affairs including GAFTA's internationally renowned arbitration and dispute resolution service (handling in excess of 900 commercial disputes a year with an aggregate value of damages awarded of over $250+million) and GAFTA's international training programme. Have lectured extensively on international arbitration and commercial contract disputes at international conventions and industry events, including in India, UAE, North America, Singapore, Canada and throughout Europe (France, Finland, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine). Guest speaker at London Shipping Week, Com-Risk and London International Dispute Week. Member of executive management team and adviser to the board.
