• Successfully recruited, hired, and trained two welding engineers to support all melting, rolling, and fabrication areas in CMS (Corning Manufacturing Support). Both successfully obtained their CWI.• Authored and implemented a new platinum welding standard for Corning, developed and executed a rigorous welding training and testing method for existing and new platinum smiths.• Facility engineer responsible for managing CMS capital budget. Developed a 5 year technology roadmap that targets yearly spending of approx. $750K of capital in order to maintain a reasonable amount of depreciation while advancing the level of knowledge, skill, and technology to ensure the CMS facility continues to operate at world class standards.• Managed equipment portion of a $4.5M Capital expansion project for CMS. Responsible for vendor selection DA, equipment specifications, overall design concepts, installation, and final acceptance for in-house Grit Blast and Plasma Spray system and process.• Organized and led a worldwide welding workshop in South Korea for a multicultural team including platinum smiths from Tainan, Taichung, Shizuoka, SCP, Harrodsburg, and CMS. • Responsible for Solidworks modeling and dimensioning of Diesel substrates for Autopsy group• Worked with Netoptix engineers to develop an inspection technique and implemented it into production for special IR mirror assemblies • Managed a small team of MTE engineers to successfully increase finishing line efficiencies at the Diesel Plant. With capital expenditures under $70K the team was able to almost double line throughput from 22 and 35 filters per hour average to 45 and 55 filters per hour for both finishing lines respectively.
