Jonathan joined Jewish Care in 2017 as General Counsel and is a qualified solicitor and member of the Law Society in England and Wales.Prior to joining Jewish Care, Jonathan worked at several law firms in the City, Canary Wharf and Covent Garden, specialising in family related litigation.He is responsible for overseeing and identifying the legal issues in all areas of Jewish Care’s work and their interrelation across the organisation, as well as corporate governance and policy issues. Jonathan works closely with each of the other officers, and their teams, to ensure that they are appropriately aware of relevant issues and advised accordingly. The role is both reactive and proactive – addressing issues reactively by analysing and providing the legal perspective – and proactively by seeking to mitigate potential legal problems.In 2018 Jonathan also assumed the role of Company Secretary – taking responsibility for Jewish Care’s statutory records and registers and filing requirements at Companies House as well as organising and minuting Trustee meetings.More recently Jonathan took over responsibility for Procurement, Business Continuity, Insurance and Security (2019) and Property (2021).
