Introducing Automotive Quality Standards to the Oil Industry

I worked as the Senior Quality Engineer / Project Engineer in the New Product development department, developing electronic drive by wire accelerator pedal modules and actuator position sensors. Working along side designers, process engineers and sales engineers to ensure that new products meet customer expectations of Quality, technicalspecification cost and timing. This role involves me in ALL aspects of Quality, supplier, customer and internal, from product and process development through to production release and beyond.In parallel with these activities I help maintain the project teams conformance to company and customer quality systems. I previously spent 5 years as Quality Engineer supporting production lines on a daily basis.

Sagar Richards are an automotive company manufacturing selector forks and synchromesh rings for car gearboxes. Here my role as senior quality engineer included the responsibility of managing 4 shop floor inspectors and providing technical assistance to the metrology department. I worked on QOS, Quality procedures, PPAP’s and associated documentation such as PFMEA,DFM, PCP and work instructions. Supporting manufacture of all the companys products and helped develop over moulding of selector forks for particular applications. I gained a sound knowledge of hot forging, gravity die-casting, metallurgy, CNC machining and in process monitoring computerised SPC packages.
