I started my own company laying floors and general carpentry at 15 years old. At 24, I branched out into commercial construction. I spent most of my time with an international commercial general contractor based in Ohio. I spent around 17 years building, retails stores in 49 of the 50 US states. (Hawaii is the only state I haven’t worked in). I built for over 50 major brands (many of them international brands). Most of those years I worked as site superintendent, as well as doing trade work on each of the stores. I also was project manager for several years. In the 17 years I worked in commercial construction, I never had a single project finish late or had any clients less than completely satisfied with each project. I established many valuable relationships with clients and construction companies nation wide. In mid 2020 I was laid off due to the industry wide shutdown when Covid hit. I briefly worked as a project manager for a well established local GC. Then, at the end of 2020 I went to work as COO of a premium, tiny home manufacturer that exploded on the market. I manage all aspects of construction and shop operations. I manage all aspects of HR/recruiting. I design and model all our homes in 3D and create the plans/shop drawings. I am tasked with process development as well as quality control. I manage around 35 employees in our 30,000 sq’ production facility. So far, I have been able to cut production times by over 50%. I have improved all aspects of our build processes and quality of our products. I look forward to solving the challenges of material acquisitions, logistics and labor shortages that the construction industry is facing. In the nearly 30 years of working in the industry, I’ve learned, you never stop learning!
