Jonathan Whitaker is Joseph A. Jennings Chair in Business, Professor of Analytics & Operations, and Professor of Law (by courtesy) at the University of Richmond, ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the #22 (tie) National Liberal Arts College in the U.S. Dr. Whitaker is also a Visiting Professor of Computer Science at OTH Regensburg, ranked by Die Zeit as the #16 Computer Science program for applied sciences universities in Germany. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Whitaker worked in consulting and professional services with A.T. Kearney and Price Waterhouse (PwC), including projects in North America, Europe and Asia. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies such as Bank of America, DuPont, General Motors, NCR and Supervalu, and large privately-held firms such as Cargill. He has conducted academic projects at Forbes Global 2000 firms such as Capital One, CarMax, Charoen Pokphand (Thailand), Electrolux, Hospital Corporation of America, Performance Food Group, Rolls-Royce, Saudi Telecom, and Volvo CE, and public sector organizations such as the Federal Reserve Bank and U.S. Census Bureau. He earned a PhD from the University of Michigan, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA from the University of Southern California. His academic research has been published in Financial Times top 50 journals such as Management Information Systems Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, and Production and Operations Management, and has been profiled in managerial outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and MIT Sloan Management Review.
