11 great years as a solicitor at Harvey Ingram specialising in personal injury litigation . I was appointed to the Law Society Panel and 2005 and an APIL Senior Litigator from 2006. Career highlights included challenging the compatability of the Fatal Accident Acts , achieving the largest CICA award in English Legal History and appearing on page 7 of the Sun! . I also learned about the life changing impact accidents and diseases can have on people. I acted for a number of families who lost loved ones through asbestos related diseases , individuals with serious brain and spinal injuries and a model who suffered serious facial injuries on a road accident . In 2007 I moved into a business development role focussing on developing personal injury services to large companies with fleets of vehicles . This quickly developed into £750k per annum business . I also grew Harvey Ingram's defendant PI practice from scratch and developed significant expertise in uninsured loss recovery and credit hire. I managed a team of 7 lawyers and provided technical support to a 30 strong Uninsured Loss Recovery team . From 2008 I became heavily involved in account management and business development including supporting the relationship with National Accident Helpline and numerous blue chip corporate clients .

A fantastic grounding in the law under the tutorship of David Douce who is now a well respected Judge. I still haven't come across anyone better with clients than David ! I did my first Court hearing on day 2 of my training contract and experienced a huge range of civil litigation including plenty of advocacy. I dealt with a full range of PI claims , including a clinical negligence claim through to a high court trial . I was also handling adoption and child protection cases which provide life learning as well as exposure to challenging legal issues. An in at the deep end training experience which served me well in the long term .

I worked as a volunteer as Burton on Trent Citizens advice bureaux advising on a huge variety of issues including legal matters , debt advice and welfare benefits. This was fantastic experience for an aspiring lawyer and a really great way to help people.
