Between October 2020 and January 2023, I was the Bid Manager at LUC. LUC is an award-winning environmental consultancy providing planning, impact assessment, landscape design, ecology and geospatial services to a wide range of public and private sector clients. My responsibilities included: > Managing a small team of bid and tender support staff with the objective of successfully supporting the tender from opportunity to submission> Leading on finding new opportunities for the company> Leading on developing a company Social Value policy and reponse> Leading and developing a bid 'library' of quality draft responses for tenders> Conducting and sharing statistics and reporting for the board - including a weekly report for the senior leadership team> Conducting and sharing research on new markets and disciplines for the board> Managing frameworks for the company

Between March and August 2020, I was a Bid Manager for Stride Treglown, a Top 10 AJ100 architectural practice. I managed high-value bids across multiple sectors: including technology & innovation, education, higher education, landscape. Over the six months, I managed bids which generated £1.5m of fees, and won the company a place on a large national framework. I also introduced a new company-wide bidding infrastructure. This included creating a board-approved a ‘bid writing guide’ for the company. My responsibilities included:• Improving the bid infrastructure of the organisation: Including, new ‘bid writing guide’, feedback tracker, bid production worksheet etc. • Managing the bidding process, liaising with directors, and managing the process from inception to bid completion• Chairing meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Communicating between internal and external teams to generate successful submissions• Copy editing and proof reading• Using Adobe InDesign to create tender documents and graphics.

I was a Bid Coordinator for WYG, an international professional services organisation based in Bristol. I managed bids over a wide range of sectors (including MOD, Defence Infrastructure Organisation, ground investigation, engineering, architecture, planning, quantity surveying, asbestos, environment, heritage, transport) which have generated over £1.8m worth of fees in my first year (full portfolio of work available). I worked in a small yet successful marketing team for an Architects' Journal Top 25 UK Practices. My role involved bidding for projects for the company to work on an architectural level. In this role, I gained skills on Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop as well as content writing and graphic production. At ADP, I have helped win projects and frameworks in HE, education, and healthcare.

Having originally written a piece for the Blackmore Vale Magazine (a weekly newspaper covering three counties and 150,000 people), on travelling in Southern Spain on a bootstring, I got a taste for writing articles. In January 2015, I was asked to do a piece on AFC Bournemouth which turned into a regular 'think piece' about the 'Cherries'. I have also written articles on Scandinavian politics for the 'Political Domain'.
