After I was made redundant at the end of September 2020, I made the decision to start my own design company, creative75. So far, I’ve worked on a re-brand for a local sports injury and massage company, Elite Injuries, helped design an interactive map for Giff Gaff, worked on marketing material for Mawney Partners who are a London-based financial search firm and various projects for the agency BCW. My latest placement was with Time Out London and Time Out Market based in New York, were I worked with clients such as Bombay Sapphire, TFL and Samsung. Time Out Market was fun as I worked on their promotional material based around their many sites in North America. I designed Instagram posts/stories, website graphics, Facebook material and large screens promoting Halloween parties , music events and Thanksgiving meals to name a few. I love having a bit more artistic licence and being able to have a one-to-one with the client is great, as I felt that was lacking in my last job. I feel as if I can take a bit more time over things now and talk through my thoughts on colours and feel of the artwork. For me, it’s been a bit of a restart for my career and I’m enjoying work again.

My previous role was as a designer for the Story Studio team at the London Evening Standard/ESI Media. My day to day work involved designing pages and advertorials, creating The Agenda, a four-page bi-monthly showcase for Westfield, concentrating on new fashion, food, beauty, luxury lifestyle and entertainment. I’ve also had the privilege to work on some great looking supplements over the years for Propercorn, Virgin Holidays, Visit Wales, a variety of in-house travel guides and Great Days Out, and half term guide for parents, to name a few. I also work on advertorials for Hiscox, Southeastern Railway, The Irish Tourist Board, Specsavers and Oxford Street. I help the sales team with mock ups as well for pitches for clients such as Weflip, The Royal Mail and Airbnb. When I first joined the company, I was the sole designer for The Independent's marketing and circulation departments, where I worked on everything from designing posters, the How to Learn series (a language course on book and cd for those that wanted to learn Spanish, Italian etc), to Bird song cd's in association with the RSPB and the Banned book series, where the paper gave away a once banned book with the Saturday edition of the paper for twenty weeks.I also had the pleasure to work on the launch of the i newspaper, which was a concise and compact version of The Independent, made for those that haven't got the time to read full editorial content. We marketed the paper towards the younger generation, the i had a fresher look and feel to it which was great to work on, with bold fonts and an eye-catching colour palette.

I was the sole Mac Operator at Freeway Press / DJY Printers, setting up print and corporate work, running film and making plates.
