I am a first-generation Korean-American and grew up in Virginia. I’ve always investigated the idea of why people do what they do. This drove my passion for becoming a psychology major. At the same time, looking at the implications of this field finding that an analysis-based and problem-solving situation would fit me best. Minoring in business and learning the ropes to one day successfully start one. I’ve always strived to be a person that was understanding. This led me to be very sympathetic but intrigued by the viewpoints that people shared. Social psychology has been an interesting field that always seems to intrigue me. I’ve meddled in neuroscience since I like to broaden my knowledge. The field I fully settled on was I/O psychology hence my minor in business. Personally, I tend to expand on many different hobbies that take up my free time. Work on the other hand is a different story. I work in a group home with clients with schizophrenia. I work as an RSS (recovery support specialist) and my day-to-day consists of making appointments, hosting group therapies, and interacting with my clients. Documentation is also crucial for my job and I will write upwards of two paragraphs for each client. I’ve gained experience in using Word, Excel, Teams, and outlook.

  Working within gateway homes. My main job is to help clients in a group home strive to become independent. Talking to PCP's (primary care providers) and case managers that work with the clients. Talking to the clients and hosting in-groups to educate the clients about coping mechanisms. Reaching out to parents and making appointments is also a common occurrence that happens same with helping clients with their personal events.
