Responsible for n-tier Client Server Architecture for a Tablet PC (XP, then migration to Vista) based C# and .NET client application which asynchronously accessed a fault-tolerant server cluster for two-way data distribution. The server cluster also provided email and web interfaces for remote management and updates by customers to their Tablet PCs in the field via cellular broadband and/or Wi-Fi. The client application utilized "handwritten ink" and drawing via stylus for annotations of photos, CAD drawings, original notes, and the filling of Forms by users in the field.In addition to Architecture, I was Lead Developer for both client and server side C# applications development teams. As well as planning schedules for and mentoring the programming staff, I wrote large amounts of code - especially in the areas of cellular communications, ink and graphics processing, SQL, and XML for data interchange.

Responsible for all aspects of a new venture providing online communications and data storage for individuals.Developed robust server-side application and plug-in set to enable HTML-only (no javascript client required) features to clients.Handled low-level HTTP and SMTP communication issues with browser compatibility.

Initially developed the Unix/Motif based GUI applications and a middle communication tier to create a suite of 24 applications used for various aspects of configuring and programming robotic chip mounters and handlers for building Surface Mount Technology printed circuit boards.Responsible for porting to PC platform, I created a dialog exporting module which converted all Unix application controls into a text database for cross-platform compatibility.Created a cross-platform GUI presentation and handling engine to create applications from the exported interfaces on OS/2, OS/2-Japanese, and Windows NT thus enabling shared code for the database objects, middle communication tier and interface definitions.Traveled to Japan to provide training to engineers on the software.

Worked in the Human Factors / Software Usability Lab prototyping user interface modifications for test, then later as lead developer of a graphical front-end presentation system for creating PC-based GUIs to legacy enterprise mainframe products (e.g. VTAM). For this product I also created a video distributed worldwide to development groups about the new system, presented to enterprise customers on a national "road show", and later received the IBM Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. Provided interface usability testing, feedback and design alternatives for the Communications Manager/2 product and was Human Factors representative to the CM/2 Design Review Board.
