During his career, Jonathan has worked both in private practice and the Intellectual Property Department of Sony Corporation. Jonathan’s practice mainly concentrates on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in many jurisdictions around the world. He also has extensive experience of both the appeal and opposition procedures at the EPO. Jonathan’s clients range from large multi-national companies to smaller start-up companies. He has experience in a wide range of electronics-related technologies including image processing, telecommunications (both network and handset technologies), broadcast technologies, semi-conductor devices, optical communications and electrical machines. Jonathan has experience in obtaining patent protection for different aspects of the Blu-Ray Standard, as well as for different 3D image processing techniques.Jonathan travels regularly to Japan, South Korea and the US to visit clients and to speak at conferences about patent practice. He is a also a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys International Liaison Committee.
