About Jonathan A. Jensen

A former executive with global sport and event marketing agencies in the Omnicom and Publicis Groupe advertising networks, I now serve as a sport marketing professor and consultant whose focus is assisting both brand marketers and sport organizations in strategic decision-making, in particular the negotiation, activation, and effective measurement of the return on investment (ROI) from sport sponsorships. As part of my litigation consulting practice, I provide expert witness testimony, consulting services, and analysis on a variety of issues, including traditional and non-traditional marketing, advertising, event/experiential marketing, athlete endorsement, and sponsorship ROI. Past clients have included DLA Piper, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, Nystrom, Beckman & Paris, Farella Braun + Martel, BraunHagey & Borden, Frost Brown Todd, IMS ExpertServices, and Analysis Group.My academic research has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, AdWeek, USA Today, the WGN Morning News, SportsBusiness Journal, The Baltimore Sun, and Columbus Dispatch, and published in several leading academic journals, including the Journal of Sport Management, Sport Management Review, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, Business Horizons, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Global Marketing, Journal of Quantitative Analysis in Sports, Journal of Sports Analytics, and the International Journal of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship.I have also been invited to present my research at several international conferences, including the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference (SSAC), Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) Annual Conference, the American Marketing Association (AMA) Winter and Summer Educators'​ Conferences, the International Sports Business Symposium, the Annual Conference of the Sport Marketing Association (SMA), the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) Conference, the International Symposium for Olympic Research, and the New England Symposium on Statistics in Sports (NESSIS).
