I have returned to Winckworth Sherwood LLP as a partner in the firm's new Regulation, Data and Information team. I specialise in finding pragmatic, commercial and risk-aware solutions for public and semi-public bodies, companies operating in a regulated sector, charitable organisations and others wishing to do business with them.I have particular expertise in public procurement. I help authorities and bidders with building a procurement strategy, deciding when, and what type, of procurement exercise is required, the conduct of procurement exercises, making modifications to existing contracts and dealing with challenges.I also regularly advise on:- state aid and the management of public funds; - data protection including the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); - freedom of information- financial regulation including consumer credit; and - statutory powers, audit and vires.As several of my areas of practice derive at least partially from EU law, I am also particularly interested in the legal effects of Brexit and what it means for individual organisations.

I was an associate in Trowers & Hamlins' Public Sector Commercial department, having joined in June 2015 from Winckworth Sherwood. I specialised in procurement, state aid, public and administrative law, outsourcing and other commercial work for a wide variety of clients, especially those in the public sector, the regulated private sector, and others who do business with those sectors.

I was a member of the commercial team at Winckworth Sherwood LLP. Much of my work involved working for clients with public responsibilities, or those dealing with such bodies. These could be central or local government bodies, charities, schools and academies, housing providers, or commercial operators operating under contracts to the public or regulated sectors.I helped in particular with the buying of goods and services, including advising on the public procurement regime and drafting commercial contracts. I also worked across several other areas of regulatory and public law, including state aid and financial services regulation.
