Systems Completion Engineer - Anchor Project
Subsea Power & Controls Engineer
Provider of technical expertise on subsea power and control systems to Chevron business units globally. In Angola, I designed, planned, and safely executed the replacement of a complex electrical module for a state-of-the-art direct electrical heating system for a subsea oil and gas pipeline. I traveled to the platform offshore Angola to oversee successful 4-week shutdown, execution, and startup on a high-pressure turnaround timeline. Aligned equipment vendors, operations, production maintenance, facilities engineering, and construction teams across diverse cultural and geographical boundaries. For the Jansz-Io Compression project in Australia, I supported delivery of a technology qualification program for a subsea electric anti-surge valve actuator for the subsea compression station, directly resulting in multimillion-dollar CAPEX savings. In deepwater Gulf of Mexico, I delivered conceptual electrical power system design studies for subsea multiphase pumps for long-distance tiebacks. I also travelled offshore with the Gulf of Mexico subsea operations team to perform installation and retrieval of subsea pumps. For the Eastern Mediterranean business unit, I led a rapid on-demand response to a critical subsea umbilical cable issue by standing up an integrated cross-functional project team of subject matter experts to provide design, manufacturing, installation, and operational support to ensure no impact to production.
Subsea Controls Engineer
As a member of the Jansz-Io Compression Project team, I led the Technology Qualification Program for the subsea control system and hardware of a world-leading natural gas subsea compression station. During the design phase, I supported the project’s final investment decision by creating and executing test procedures that closed technology gaps between existing technologies and those that were being created for this project's specific needs.Based in Oslo, Norway, I oversaw the engineering contractor Aker Solutions while co-located in their office with extensive travel to vendor facilities in France, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and USA.Collaboration with discipline specialists and vendor counterparts to develop functional design specifications, contractor scopes of work, and nonconformance requests for control system and hardware. Fostered alignment between Chevron and JV partners ExxonMobil, Shell, Osaka Gas, Tokyo Gas, and Chubu Electric Power.Subsea focus areas: active magnetic bearings for subsea compressors; all-electric actuators and control system; nucleonic level profiler; and low voltage power distribution system.
