Village Hope works on reducing rural poverty in Sierra Leone by promoting economic development. Specifically, we help farmers increase the quality and quantity of their yields by using modern methods. Most products are certified organic and sold on international markets which bring the farmers the highest prices. Specifically, we help farmers increase the quality and quantity of their yields by using modern methods. Most products are certified organic and sold on international markets which bring the farmers the highest prices. We lease 20% of the land, so that the business is viable, and give landowners 20% of our harvest as payment for the lease. Our goal is to leave 84% of the profits from farming in the community but also to make an annual profit (within 5 years) for investors of more than $4 million.
