I run the innovative, entrepreneurial and engaged Oxford University Careers Service. I regularly talk to audiences in person, on workshops and conference speeches, through print, social, and broadcast media, on career service management and student careers. I’m the FT’s careers columnist, having answered over 150 questions from readers (so far), and my recent publications include my careers book: How to find the Career you really want (Little, Brown) and a career starter YouTube series with the Financial Times (links below)I research the underlying behaviours for the graduate career gender gap, in schools and universities - and have presented these on BBC Woman's Hour, BBC Radio Oxford, and to schools conferences.I have consulted on strategy for careers services including with Groningen University, King's College Halifax, and UNSW, Australia.I work to get things done; from strategy to implementation to make a measurable difference. I manage organisation, clients, technology and colleagues to: > Define strategy based on understanding our clients and how they use careers services> Improve careers services operations in a measurable way> Be rigorously evidence-driven> Make the careers service organisation more cost efficient> Be creative; spot opportunities to apply great careers management ideas> Implement changes> Pilot new careers management ideas> Add value to the University> Communicate our careers services activities and performance to all stakeholders> Present careers service ideas and programmes in media and from speaking platforms> Run workshops on careers service management
