I research and produce quantitative and qualitative analysis and machine-learning for a demanding clientele of actively-managed hedge funds, private-equity firms, family offices, and activist investors. I direct the conceptual development of strategic coverage areas. I create written and verbal presentations. I conduct primary interviews, data analysis, and modeling, I work to tight deadlines and guide the firm's investment arguments and software development. I also defend and modify those tools as conditions warrant. My main coverage areas are media, technology, financial services, and cybersecurity. But I have active sources in medicine, artificial intelligence, aerospace, and the marine industry. My software solutions tend to rely on wholesomely structured relational databases, elegant statistical tools, and limited black-box machine automation. I also have a passion for maps and digital geographic information systems. I have a working knowledge of JavaScript, Python, the family of HTML scripts, SQL and relational database structures and the growing family of machine learning tools like TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch. I have decades of experiences at media firms like CNNMoney, Fortune Small Business, ABCNews, CNBC, TheStreet.com, Entrepreneur Magazine, Crain's New York Business, MTV, VH1, The Joyce Theater and countless others. I have also indulged my curiosity sailing, climbing and rowing Venice's Grand Canal in the ancient standing Venetian style. I have passed the first exam of the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. I can navigate with a sextant and tabular star data. I am currently studying for my HAM radio license.
