I am passionate about providing commercial supply chain and access solutions for patients, Governments, clinical trials and access programs across the globe, to establish and maintain supply of medicines and medical devices.In the first part of my career, I was fortunate to serve in the British Army. As an officer in the Army, it provided me with the privilege of some real-life experience of leadership in a multitude of (often extreme) settings including military deployments, adventure training and various sports teams. I then moved in the world of Pharma. Initially with Generics UK Ltd, which was vertically integrated, and provided a great foundation in all matters GMP and GDP. It also gave me great insight into the world of generics - especially in commercial supply chains. Next, was a move into ‘big pharma’ – AZ and then GSK. Again, I enjoyed working in commercial supply chains in the UK initially then moving into an above country, EU role. Challenging, fast paced, customer service and operationally driven positions with a high degree of commercial activity and alignment with the brand teams. I was then fortunate to move into the pharma-services sector, with Clinigen. In my position of Supply Chain Director, we established new, often ground-breaking supply chains to support these distribution channels. Next stop was Managing Director of Bionical Emas. This allowed me to take on a much more commercial position with a high degree of BD associated with growing a small company. Again, fast paced, very hands on, combining leadership with everyday tactical decision making. In late 2014 I was fortunate to have a great breakfast meeting with Banks Bourne and Steve Scalia. The subject was setting up Tanner in the UK. There were several factors that drew me to Tanner - a Company with a great culture with a customer-focused approach for helping patients with unmet medical needs around the world get access to medicines that have a profound impact on their lives. My role as EVP Corp Dev is to support the 4 core commercial Divisions – GAP, MAP, CTS and LAC (Licensing) – to expand our access to supply of medicines to meet even more unmet patient needs across the globe. Since COVID, I have also stood up a new division (Tanner PHP) aligned to supporting Governments with their preparedness to increase resilience in healthcare.
