About Jonathan Brunyee
I am a champion of regenerative agriculture and sustainable food systems with 30 unique years of academic, management, consultancy, advisory and mentoring experience; and a proven track record of leading projects, programmes, organisations and people. Currently, I am enjoying being a diverse regenerative farmer, agroecological consultant and mentor, and an educator. I am also the Founder/Facilitator of the Regenerative Agriculture Accelerator Programme in the Cotswolds, a Founder/Director of the Emergent Generation youth network, and a Founder/Steer of the North East Cotswolds Farmer Cluster. As Head of Sustainable Farming and Food Systems at FarmED I worked to accelerate the transition towards a regenerative farming and sustainable food future, with responsibility for knowledge exchange, strategy and collaboration. Prior to this, I was as a Senior Lecturer in Farm Business Management and programme lead at the Royal Agricultural University. I am qualified to postgraduate level in Rural Resource Management and Environmental Management for Business & Commerce having studied at Plymouth (Seale Hayne) and Sheffield Hallam Universities. I also hold the BASIS Soil and Water Certificate and PGCAP teaching qualification. I farm (with my wife and 3 children) a 73ha National Trust holding in the Cotswolds producing award winning beef, lamb, pork, habitat for farmland birds and species rich grassland. We market all our organic and 'pasture fed' meat directly via our pop-up farm shop, and run a DIY livery enterprise. We deliver educational visits and host unique tipi wedding and glamping stays @cotswoldsundercanvas. We launched a joint venture growing organic salad and vegetables @cotswoldmarketgarden in 2019. I have committed the last 10 years of my career (since a transformational Nuffield Farming Scholarship) to the policy, principles and practice of regenerative agriculture and agroecology. I believe we must go beyond farm conservation and base concepts of sustainability to a regenerative system that rebuilds, improves, enhances and reconnects, at pace. It's complex! This passion led me to the Pasture Fed Livestock Association. I was a Director for 3 years (2015 - 2019) helping to develop the organisation and the market for 100% grass fed meat and milk.I lead projects and teams with a smile on my face, and build trust by being nurturing, honest, enthusiastic and open minded. I am a team player and strong on my own. I am curious, entrepreneurial and creative; and comfortable in a muddy field, on a conference stage or in a board room.
