I was brought on board this position by request of a fellow project manager who recognized my organizational skills and dedication while in the Sales Engineer position. I was initially tasked with a support role to help uncover any discrepancies between the contract documents and the understood scope of work. I quickly outgrew this role and assumed larger responsibilities. As in my Sales Engineer position, I was able to use advanced programming formulas within Excel to bring the project back to a clear understanding of what equipment and services were within the project scope. Shortly after bringing the project back into focus, I took the role as Lead Project Manager by becoming heavily involved with the scheduling and coordinating of our team members and interfacing even more with the general contractor, the sub-contractors and the end-user. Managing RFI’s, RFP’s and proposals in a rapidly changing environment were weekly activities. The results of my involvement increased profit margins by not only uncovering billable work but also by reducing labor costs through active coordination with the contractors and end-user.

I was accountable for providing accurate estimations and system designs based on project bid specifications and drawings. I worked closely with salesman, electrical contractors and engineers on some of Philadelphia’s tallest high rises and government centers as well as over 100 other projects in the tristate area.During my time in this position, it was clear that an organize approach would be needed to provide the most competitive estimates. I was able to use advanced programming formulas within Excel to accurately track equipment quantities, changes and RFI’s throughout an evolving bidding process.As a result of my work, there was a noticeable increase in sales quote and booking numbers that corresponded closely to the salesmen I worked with most.

Just over a year and half in the Fire Alarm Inspector position, I was promoted to Lead Fire Alarm Inspector. In addition to my prior responsibilities, I was now accountable for: • Inspections in some Philadelphia’s largest high rises, hospitals and other commercial facilities.• Coordinating inspections with the customer• Managing a team of inspectors• Completing certification forms• Educating new Fire Alarm Inspectors

As a Fire Alarm Inspector, I was responsible for inspecting life safety systems in commercial facilities and determine if they met standards set forth by NFPA, IBC and NEC building and safety codes.My daily roles included:• Functional testing and inspecting of individual fire alarm system components• Evaluate fire alarm system compliancy with building and safety codes• Troubleshooting low voltage electrical system circuits, relays and control equipment.
