Senior systems engineer; IT project management

As the enterprise manager of satellite communication networks for the Department of Defense, I am responsible for serving the needs of our most senior customers, including C-suite executives. Ensure that our worldwide Line-of-Sight frequencies are available and functioning optimally for all Department of Defense flying and ground support assets, including for daily use, contingency operations, training missions, and exercises. Oversee a team of dedicated professionals who provide 24/7 operations center support in the event of crisis situations and are prepared to implement crisis reaction plans as needed. Provide reliable and secure communication services to support the vital missions of the Department of Defense.

As a regional planner for North African strategic engagements, I led a team of 11 military, civilian, and locally engaged staff while serving as program manager for a $2.8 million dollar portfolio responsible for administration, logistics, contract negotiations, acquisition management, and operational support for U.S. cabinet-level delegations, crisis actions, and security cooperations. My team liaised with U.S. and host nation partners to negotiate and manage government contracts to procure commercial services and equipment to develop Moroccan partner capabilities and further U.S. foreign interests. Additionally, I led a fixed and mobile communications program enabling critical reporting to three international operations headquarters. Through my efforts, our team possessed the necessary resources and support to carry out vital missions in the region.Additional highlights:- Developed and managed newly acquired diplomatic relationships, increasing portfolio by 50%, exceeding yearly administrative headquarters requirements.- Leveraged host-nation relationships to expedite U.S. network engineer upgrade/training for 8 new users, decreasing install time by 40%, enabling the accomplishment of national mission requirements.- Principal advisor to the U.S Ambassador of Morocco and United States Senior Defense Official formatters encompassing logistics, aviation operations, and cross-cultural operational support.

Regional Planner for Sub-Saharan African Strategic engagements. IT manager and supervisor for unclassified and secure networks. Lead a team of 3 military and locally engaged staff. Responsible for providing fixed and mobile communications enabling critical reporting to three International Operations Headquarters. Focused on developing the African partner capability. Negotiated and manage government contracts to procure commercial services and equipment.

Led 9 member IT operations center providing a $6M of secure voice and data Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance solution of local & wide area network (LAN/WAN) data/email/voice/video system support to 1,500 enterprise customers across 5 locations. Has understanding of challenging IT infrastructure and ability to troubleshoot issues. Supervised installation and operation of communications equipment on fixed, airborne, and shipboard platforms to include video conferencing, wireless devices, secure laptops, desktops and managing software and patches. Constructed and managed data centers in austere environments. Conducted daily and weekly briefings in addition to providing written situational reports to senior level executives regarding IT operations.

Led 5-person team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and deploying communications equipment. Supported 28 AWACS aircraft during exercise, deployment, and contingency operations.Managed $1.3M IT equipment program. Led maintenance team to successfully execute and pass 60 inspections resulting in a 97% deployment readiness rate.Oversaw the deployment and operational capability of HF Long-Haul, UHF/VHF, ground-to-air, and SATCOM systems supporting foreign and domestic global airborne air control operations.

Maintained a $22M systems control facility. Provided high-quality secure voice and data command and control communications supporting the President, Vice President, Cabinet Secretaries, Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commanders, the Pentagon and worldwide Global Information Grid customers. Monitored, analyzed, performed fault isolation, initiated circuit restoration and coordinated equipment repair actions of 1,600 links, trunks and circuits traversing the SCF's Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) nodes. Coordinated operational matters with connected facilities, government and commercial agencies and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). Exercised operational control over GIG resources and approved temporary allocation to authorized users. Advised leadership on circuit and systems performance.Performed, coordinated, and supervised their design, configuration, operation, restoration, and improvements. Analyzed their capabilities and performance, identified problems, and took corrective action. Operated cryptographic equipment, fabricated cable assemblies, monitored and managed work-center training programs, and performs control facility quality assurance evaluations.Analyzed, monitored, and controlled performance of long-distance voice and data circuits traveling on the integrated network digital exchange (IDNX), asynchronous transfer mode switches (ATM), digital subscriber lines (DSL), Non-Secure and Secret Internet Protocol Router Networks.Coordinated with subscribers, contractors, lateral agencies and higher headquarters to schedule downtime and quality assurance tests. Solely responsible for readiness and maintenance operations of a $26 million-dollar multi-role F-16 fighter aircraft committed to exercises and no-notice, worldwide deployments.Directly responsible for launch and recovery operations, aircraft servicing, inspections, and performance of organizational maintenance on assigned aircraft. Managed aircraft maintenance program and all aspects of aircraft maintenance performed on assigned jet. Ensured proper automated maintenance system documentation is up-to-date and accomplished per headquarters guidance.Contributed to national defense missions by preparing and maintaining fighter aircraft to support 24/7 “alert status” for western seaboard patrols weeks after September 11, 2001 attacks.
