As a co-founder of The Blue River Group, Jonathan Clay utilizes his vertical and cross market industry experience to ensure that his team provides effective solutions for their clients.Mr. Clay began his career in 1984 at ODC, Inc., a specialty contractor best known for the tensile roof structures on the gymnastics and fencing arenas built for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul Korea.Jonathan graduated magna cum laude in construction management from Southern Polytechnic State University (SPSU) in 1992. Before forming The Blue River Group in 2004, he worked as a specialty contractor, construction manager, design-build general contractor, as well as a program manager and owner’s representative. This experience, combined with his oversight of a capital campaign build-out and campus master planning for a non-profit, provides Jonathan with excellent vertical industry expertise that provides him a unique ability to anticipate and meet his clients’ needs.Jonathan has been a frequent speaker at both regional and national conferences. He is a member and was elected a founding board member and vice president of the Building Commissioning Association’s SE regional chapter. Jonathan has remained involved in the Atlanta community throughout his career serving on the board of directors at St. Jude's Recovery Center, the construction industry advisory board at SPSU, and the City of Atlanta’s Local Industry Council at Southside Comprehensive High School. On each of these boards, he served as chairman for multiple years. While with Southside, he received the Atlanta Partner’s for Education 2003 A+ Award for Career Connections, and The Construction Education Foundation of Georgia’s 2003 Visionary Builder Award.At The Blue River Group, Jonathan’s team specializes in technically complex mission critical projects.
