I lead the research team for the Patient Safety Taskforce under the FMCA, established to address the 2022-2023 fungal meningitis outbreaks in Mexico. Our mission is to investigate these events and enhance patient safety in anesthesia practices nationwide.

In my current role, I focus on contributing to various facets of medical research and supporting academic pursuits:Patient Recruitment: I am involved in the recruitment process for hospital-based studies, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and study criteria.Multicentral Study Coordination: I assist in coordinating with other research centers for multicentral studies, facilitating data sharing and communication.Research Development: I participate in designing and implementing research projects, including data analysis and preparing findings for academic dissemination.Academic Contributions: I engage in academic writing, support hospital residents in thesis development, and provide instructional sessions.

I have developed and led a year-long scientific project, overseeing its journey from initial protocol development through to data dissemination. This included gaining approval for the research protocol, managing data collection and analysis, and drawing meaningful conclusions. I also played a key role in the final dissemination of our findings, crafting reports and presentations to communicate the results to the scientific community.

As part of my medical education, I completed extensive clinical rotations in a third-level hospital, renowned for its specialization in various medical fields. These rotations provided me with hands-on experience in five key medical branches, each contributing significantly to my clinical skills and knowledge.Surgery: Engaged in a dynamic surgical environment, assisting in preoperative preparations and postoperative care. Gained insights into surgical procedures and patient management in the operating room.Internal Medicine (IM): Focused on diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex illnesses. Participated in patient rounds, developed treatment plans, and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.Obstetrics and Gynecology: Involved in prenatal care, childbirth, and postnatal support. Assisted in gynecological procedures and surgeries.Community Care: Contributed to primary care services, addressing diverse health needs at a community level. Developed skills in preventive medicine, patient education, and managing chronic conditions.Urgencies: Worked in a high-pressure emergency department, responding to acute medical crises. This rotation honed my abilities in rapid assessment, emergency interventions, and critical decision-making.

This rotation included my active participation in various aspects of patient care, including attending surgeries in the operating room, managing patients in the outpatient service, conducting post-operative checks, and contributing to individual patient treatment plans. The rotation offered a comprehensive insight into the intricacies and challenges of pediatric neurosurgery, enhancing my practical skills and medical knowledge in this specialized field.
