Primary responsibilities have included developing, configuring, debugging, and integrating production software for Inverters for Volvo Cars.I am responsible for the software development and configuration of AUTOSAR SWCs and CDDs, the configuration of the AUTOSAR BSW and RTE, the configuration of the AUTOSAR MCAL, and configurations for AUTOSAR EcuExtracts, ports, and data types. Development and configuration are often done for diagnostic modules such as Dcm and Dem, which can also involve FiM, NvM, and Fee, including features such as DIDs, DTCs, DEM Events, Control Routines, and Freeze Frame Record Snapshots. Additionally, integrations are often done for customer deliveries of modifications, additions, and removals for CAN, the CAN DBC, customer SWCs, customer libraries, customer calibrations, customer A2L files, customer linker files, EcuExtracts, ports, and data types. AUTOSAR is configured using Mentor Capital VSTAR Integrator, and previously using Mentor Volcano Vehicle System Builder. The MCAL is configured using EB Tresos.

Aptiv was formerly Delphi Automotive.I was responsible for Android infotainment platform software development for production programs for Volvo Cars and Volvo Trucks, as well as for pursuits using the Intel Broxton SoC and the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC. Primary responsibilities included developing, debugging, and integrating production software for an Android Logger Service APK, an Android Sensors DEM (Delphi Engineering Menu) Service APK, manufacturing diagnostics tests, and a hardware diagnostic script. Also, an investigation was done to determine how the Android framework handles audio, as well as how the Intel Parameter Framework (PFW) allows for configuration of the Android audio. Android APKs are developed in Android Studio using Java. The Logger Service APK is a background system service that allows for writing various types of traces, logs, and screenshots to a USB mass storage device when inserted into the target hardware. The Logger Service also requires a native C++ daemon to implement the physical interactions with the USB mass storage device, as the native daemon has the permissions and direct access to the physical USB mass storage device to allow for complete control of the filesystem operations. The Sensors DEM Service APK is a background system service that registers sensors to the DEM and then supplies real-time sensor data to the DEM application’s HMI. The DEM is a system application installed on the target hardware for engineering analysis of real-time data from the product during development. The manufacturing diagnostics dispatcher that implements the tests is an Android APK system service. The most involved test that I developed is to test the backup camera. I had to develop an Android Camera Activity that is launched and closed by the camera manufacturing test. Another test that I developed required a native C++ library to be implemented for use by the Java application to implement capabilities that were not available from Java.

I was responsible for the software development of the FM RDS Traffic Message Channel (TMC) feature and the Tuner Shutdown Manager feature for a European automotive radio and entertainment system for General Motors. The system software architecture has both multiprocessing and multithreading, and the underlying OS is Linux. I also helped to manage, analyze, and maintain OS queue usage to optimize utilization and prevent overflows.The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) software module is a driver for an FM RDS tuner, a decoder for FM RDS and TMC data from both the FM RDS tuner that I am driving plus other external FM RDS tuners, and also a manager of the data and the feature by interacting with other modules in the system that interface with the TMC module. I travelled to Europe numerous times to participate in customer meetings and field tests on the road.The Tuner Shutdown Manager (TSM) software module is a manager of a number of tuner features during system shutdown. The TSM schedules, coordinates, and monitors activities required from the FM, AM, and DAB tuners when the system is shutting down and preparing to enter sleep mode.I was responsible for the software development of the FM RDS/AM Station List for an automotive radio and entertainment system for Honda. The system software architecture is a proprietary Delphi non-preemptive RTOS.I was responsible for the software development of the MOST150 Rear Content Manager (RCM) Server for an automotive rear seat entertainment system for Honda. The system software architecture has both multiprocessing and multithreading, and the underlying OS is Linux. The RCM Server is implemented in C++. The primary purpose of the RCM Server is to implement the interfaces needed to support communication between a front control unit and our rear seat entertainment system. I have also implemented a storage class in C++ to support the RCM Server functionality, and it does so by implementing a doubly linked tree.
