My mission is to support students with disabilities in their transition to postsecondary education, employment, and independent living. I have a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Change and Executive Leadership from the University of Southern California, and two Master of Education degrees in Educational Leadership and Administration, and Education, from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Seton Hall University, respectively.With more than 18 years of experience in educational leadership, administration, and reform in urban school districts and central offices, I have developed core competencies in curriculum development, teacher effectiveness, talent management, policy and procedure implementation, and organizational change and leadership. I am also a board member of two nonprofit organizations that promote excellence and access in higher education and incarcerated education programs. I am passionate about creating and nurturing a lifelong love of knowledge in children and adults, and empowering them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

The Executive Director of Transition and Postsecondary Initiatives provides executive-level leadership to directly manage and oversee the expansion of Transition and College Access centers (TCAC) across all five boroughs.The Executive Director of Transition and Postsecondary Initiatives is instrumental in creating and monitoring systems and structures to ensure the efficacy of the centers in providing localized support, including but not limited to the following key areas of transition: quality transition planning, student and family participation in the transition process, and the development of self-determination and advocacy skills in students with disabilities prior to the transition from school-age special education services in the NYC DOE. The Executive Director will prioritize the establishment of each center as a community resource, create and manage new Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS) aligned work-based learning opportunities and partnerships between Transition and College Access Centers and borough-based colleges, museums, city agencies and businesses, with the intent of broadening college and postsecondary opportunities for all students with disabilities.
