Consulting position under: Rose-Hulman VenturesSimpleOnboard (previously ClikOnboard) is a simple software solution designed to manage the typical hiring paperwork for local restaurants, along with allowing new and existing employees to apply to other locations within the chain (or separate brands) without any hassle. This position required heavy client interactions, along with interfacing with another development team working directly under the client – tickets were made for occasional software failures and the expansion of new features using a bug tracing application. Then, following their completion, many tickets were discussed with the client in order to verify the standards of completion.Tools: C#, .Net, SQL, SQL Server, TFS, SVN (including build & test script integration), EVerify, Bugherd, HTML, CSS, and others.

Consulting position under: Rose-Hulman VenturesIn the realm of Kidney disease, Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is a large indicator of damage or potential risks - currently in the medical world, determining this value can take 24+ hours, and the existing methods are rarely as accurate as a necessary to properly evaluate risks. FAST BioMedical discovered a method to measure the dissipation rates of 2 chemicals injected into patients in order to determine an accurate GFR within 2 hours. After working closely with the small company to gather their requirements, functional and non-functional, we began development on their calculation tool. Using an agile-like development cycle, we were able to directly involve the client in the development choices being made which allowed for an open discussion resulting in a better product for them and a clear path for the programmers. The final application replaced 3+ existing software solutions, with several file types, and added additional functionality within a condensed and much more transparent software solution.Tools: Visual C#, Windows Forms, XML, Open-source Math & PDF libraries, Git, and others.

After working heavily with the source code an existing WebSphere application, gathering and analyzing a plethora of data metrics from the last few years, and familiarizing myself with the Allstate approach to software development: I derived a model of the existing system including the underlying service architecture, communication protocols and the front-end web structure. Throughout this process, myself and a small team of skilled individuals mapped out the existing flaws and violations of best-practices within the current design – along with discussing and designing a new, more efficient, and sound approach to establishing the same Agent facing functionality.

Using a standardized set of guidelines, interns created official documents for political action committees. Then, by utilizing mappings in SQL Server Report Builder and basic SQL commands - we queried an external database to automatically fill reports.
