Regulatory T Cell Manufacturing Group

I was the Medical Director for regulatory T cell manufacturing. Our group supports several clinical trials of regulatory T cell therapy for patients with organ transplants and autoimmune disease. The manufacturing facility is part of the University of California, San Francisco.

My lab specializes in process development of novel cellular therapies for phase 1 trials under IND. I am co-director of the regulatory T cell manufacturing group and medical director of the UCSF GMP facility at Mission Center. I teach cGMP manufacturing of cellular therapeutics to pathology residents.

I do synthetic biology research on small molecule control of T cell functions.

My training included blood banking, hematopathology, clinical chemistry, clinical microbiology, molecular diagnostics, and laboratory management.

My training included service work on the transfusion service of a major academic medical center (UCSF). I was also trained in all aspects of the medical director role at a regional blood collection center (Blood Centers of the Pacific).
