Design and implementation of a mobile robot capable of carrying 45 pounds.My contribution to the project was establishing the goals/milestones and schedule to meet the date lines. On the technical side I was responsible for the onboard subsystems: microcontroller, communication (Bluetooth), positioning and obstacle detection and avoidance. Some of the robot components included: drive unit (motor control unit), power unit (provide power to components and charge (wall socket or solar) the battery), temperature control (detect and maintain target temperature of cargo area), communication subsystem (Bluetooth), positioning (GPS), remote control (cell phone application), obstacle detection and avoidance and onboard microcontroller (responsible of communication and control with all the other components).Arithmetic Logic Unit using Verilog.Designed the different components of an Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) using Verilog. Assembled all the components then simulated and synthesized the ALU using the Icarus Verilog to verify the circuit was working correctly. Wrote microcode in assembly language for the ALU and validated it was working correctly using GDB (GNU Debugger). Verilog Design, Simulation and Validation using FPGA board.Designed and wrote Verilog for different circuits using the Xilinx software, verified the design by running a simulation with a Verilog test bench. Then synthesized the design to generate gate level netlist. Downloaded the logic into the Zybo FPGA board and verified the implemented circuit worked as designed.Room to Room Navigation System using Java ScriptWrote a program in Java to find the shortest path to go from room to room within a two-storybuilding. Provided the layout of the building and the path to follow.
