• Working on a wide range of plasma processes for the production of sustainable fuels and chemicals.• Primarily focused on developing a plasma methane cracking process to produce COx-free hydrogen and carbon nanomaterials.• Designing, testing, evaluating and optimising a number of novel reactors for the plasma methane cracking process.• Analysing products, including gas/liquid analysis and carbon characterisation.

Industry based PhD• PhD project as part of CINDe (Centre for Innovative Nuclear Decommissioning), a collaboration led by the UK NNL (National Nuclear Laboratory) working alongside Sellafield Ltd. and a number of UK universities.• Worked closely with the industrial partners spending the first year based at NNL’s site in Workington, before moving to the University of Liverpool.• Studied the destruction of organic liquid waste simulants using a CO2 gliding arc plasma.• Designed and optimised a variety of novel experiments and accurately analysed products using GC, GC/MS, and in-situ FTIR.

ERASMUS+ research placement• Joined the ECHo (Electron Capture 163Holmium) project, a German-Russian-Swiss-French collaboration that aims to investigate the electron neutrino mass in the sub-eV range, by means of the analysis of the calorimetrically measured energy spectrum following the electron capture process of 163Ho.• Worked with the department of nuclear chemistry as well as carrying out interdepartmental work with the physics and engineering departments.
