Jonathan is a second-year medical student at Meharry Medical College, one of the nation's oldest and largest historically Black academic health science centers. Bridging the gap in health disparities for minorities, specifically African Americans and Hispanics, in the United States, is a personal goal due to his family heritage. He has distinct interests in the fields of neuroscience, public health and social medicine, and technology. A former cancer research scholar and student principal investigator, he is a self-starter that is passionate about research and biopharma having successfully led and managed laboratory teams, and completed several funded projects leading to publications and awards. He hopes to combine his interests to maximize his efforts in influencing health policy in the United States while pursuing a career in medicine as an executive in the field of healthcare and a physician scientist.Currently, Jonathan is an intern at Clinical Research Associates and a student ambassador for the National Center for Clinical Trial Diversity at Meharry Medical College and Dry January USA, initiatives led by Dr. Michael Caldwell who is the Associate Vice President of Vaccine Research & Education at Meharry Medical College.Additionally, Jonathan is the CEO of a health tech start-up, Centro Health Solutions, with the main objective of leveling the playing field for small to mid-size healthcare practices in the United States of America. The company aims to transform the healthcare landscape, first by introducing cultural competent solutions to increase positive health outcomes and encourage collaboration across all aspects of medicine.
