I joined Ilkley Grammar School as a newly qualified teacher after gaining my PGCE in secondary geography at The University of Sheffield. During this period I developed my teaching strategies, became a tutor to a group of 26 students (that I continued with throughout my entire time at Ilkley Grammar School), started teaching human and physical A level topics and formed my understanding of all duties that a teacher is required to complete.Aside from teaching duties, I was regularly involved in the Year 9 outdoor residential at Ingleborough and Ambleside. I led on a Year 12 leadership award scheme whilst at this residential.My work and contribution to the department saw me promoted to head of department in 2011.- Lesson planning and provision to ensure high standards of progress and attainment through use of multi-media teaching platforms including virtual learning environments.- Student assessment, analysis and target setting through performance tracking.- Pastoral care as a form tutor through to Post-16 and university applications through the UCAS process.- Engagement with parents and wider staff team in relation to student achievement.

Harlow, Essex

Provision of outdoor activities programme to a variety of people from primary school children to professional development training groups. Activities included climbing, canoeing, mountain biking, Mountain boarding, problem solving, archery and orienteering. Four repeat seasons with the centre.I started as a trainee within the centre and gained experience throughout my time at the centre. I gained more qualifications and began to be responsible for staffing, programme creation/responsibility for different clients.

Employed by a high end ski holiday company. I was a Chalet Manager of a new, 4 star, 26 person chalet with responsibility for four staff. I was also selected to be a company airport transfer representative - another client facing role which included greeting customers, selling ski packages on the transfer, providing information on the resort, communicating with french bus drivers and managerial staff both at the airport and in-resort.

Tutor at a residential centre catering for mainly primary school groups from the Glasgow-Edinburgh belt. Lead tutor for several programmes organising daytime, evening and bespoke weekend activities. Provided sessions in outdoor and environmental education helping students to connect and understand nature and themselves.
