Currently serving as the Director of Facilities for the NC State Poole College of Management.In my current role as the Director of Facilities for the Poole College of Management, I am responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of facility projects, space utilization, access control, physical asset inventory, and risk assessment/response for all Poole College facilities. Prior to my current role, I served as the Operations Manager for the Poole College of Management. In this role, my newly formed team and I were responsible for the day to day operations of the college. This included purchasing/procurement, travel operations, hiring and human resources, facility maintenance and oversight, facility projects, and various administrative support tasks. Along with the execution of day to day tasks, our unit was responsible for the creation and updating of college-wide processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Aside from my roles in the Poole College of Management, I have extensive experience in the collegiate recreation and wellness industry. As a Facility Operations Coordinator, I, along with my fantastic team, was responsible for the oversight of the 350,000 square foot Carmichael Complex. The day to day responsibilities of my role included, but were not limited to, hiring, onboarding, training and development, scheduling, workflow management and evaluation of a 150+ person Facility Operations staff spanning four departmental positions, $500K personnel and operational budget oversight, inventory management, access control management, project management, coordination of special events, and preparation and application of risk management materials and training. This position also afforded me the opportunity to enhance our offerings and operational processes during a $45M facility addition and renovation. My position at UNC Greensboro provided me similar experiences and opportunities to those at NC State University Wellness and Recreation with the added bonus of managing the grand opening of the $94M, 216,000 square foot Leonard J. Kaplan Center for Wellness. My past work experience in facility management, business service operations, and recreation have taught me how to operate in fast-paced, customer-oriented environments and utilize skill sets including customer service, financial analysis, process development, change management, decision-making, and risk management all while performing with a great degree of autonomy.Jonathan Hennessy(205) 382-2413
