Since 2010, I have used my experience in both the for-profit and not-for profit worlds to serve as a consultant and facilitator. In 2019, I began focusing on consulting full-time to grow the organizations I work with. In that time, I've had to honor of working with more than 30 different organizations around the country, with the majority close to home in Pittsburgh. Most of my engagements focus on three areas:Strategic and Business Planning: From a one-day planning sprint to a comprehensive multi-month process, planning processes are tailored to each organization to ensure the right voices are heard in planning for the future.Program Design and Development: Using a collaborative, creative, and iterativeprocess, I work to design, develop and launch new programs or improve existing services withmeasurable outcomes for the people they serve. This work especially focuses on collaborative programs including multiple organizations as partners.Operations Management: I work with organizations to solve a wide range of infrastructure challenges, including but not limited to organizational design, staffing, evaluation, facilities, and policy and procedure development.

As my career has focused on affordable housing, I launched Troy Hill Homes as a side venture to strategically and responsibly invest in transforming blighted, disinvested properties into affordable rentals and homeownership opportunities.

Interim CEO: November 2018-January 2019Chief Operating Officer: November 2014-April 2019Director of Policy and Planning: September 2012-November 2014Development Specialist: September 2011-September 2012I first came to CHS as a volunteer with the Operation Save-a-Life street outreach team. Hooked by the strength-based, harm-reduction philosophy of the organization, I joined CHS as an employee with an initial focus on fundraising, communications, and planning. During that time, I oversaw the design and launch of a new brand identity and development strategy, yielding a 396% growth in individual and corporate giving over three years. As the Chief Operating Officer, I played a leadership role in strategic planning, real estate, information technology, evaluation and process improvement, health and food services, and resource development. I am most proud of leading a successful $3.5M capital campaign to acquire and transition into a new headquarters location in the Strip District in 2016.From November 2018 until February 2019, I had the privilege of serving as the Interim CEO to help steward this organization through an executive transition.

I managed the communications and messaging for the Housing Alliance, including: launching a new website; marketing our annual conference to achieve the highest attendance on record; engaging our membership through calls to action, weekly newsletters, and timely updates on policy changes; and expanding our social media audience by over 25%.

In addition to my MSW studies at Pitt, I worked as an intern through the Housing Alliance to gain experience in macro level social work and public policy. Dedicated to working for more affordable housing options for all Pennsylvanians, the Housing Alliance serves as an advocate for those without a voice in shaping policy, and I had the opportunity to use my skills in marketing and research in conjunction with newly-acquired policy and advocacy skills to help the Alliance build an even stronger coalition and better frame their messages in Harrisburg.

As a Senior Research Associate, I was involved in all stages of our research, including project management, setup, interviewing, analysis, report writing, and presentations. I was also a trained "digital imager", meaning that I worked with research participants using Adobe Photoshop during ZMET interviews.Starting in 2009 I also took on a new responsibility as the assistant coordinator for our global partners, a network of like-minded firms around the world that are licensed to use ZMET.

As a 3-D art instructor, I developed lesson plans for a six-week course in sculpture and taught seven classes of 4th through 8th graders at an intensive private summer camp focused on music and the visual arts. This teaching experience included the challenging (and very rewarding) opportunity to successfully integrate a high-functioning autistic student into normal class activities.
